    Install ChatGPT's connector

    Nuxa downloads OpenAI's official Codex for Mac (about 95 MB), checks it's genuine, and installs it for you.

    Sign in with ChatGPT

    Nuxa opens ChatGPT's sign-in page. Sign in with your ChatGPT email and password, click Approve, then come back to Nuxa.

3Free account limits, in plain words

Free and paid ChatGPT accounts; free accounts have small limits. Here’s what happens if you hit a limit, and what to do.

When you’ve used your allowance, Nuxa says:

You've reached your ChatGPT plan's limit for now. It resets soon — or upgrade your ChatGPT plan for more.

With a work or school account, Nuxa says:

ChatGPT work and school accounts can't connect yet. Use a personal ChatGPT account or an API key.

Wait

Wait a little

Most limits clear within a minute; free daily limits reset overnight. Then click Test again in Nuxa.

Upgrade

Add credit or upgrade

Upgrade your ChatGPT plan. Plus or Pro gives much more.

Switch

Choose another AI

Free choices: Google Gemini, or Ollama on your Mac. You can switch any time.

4Troubleshooting

Tap a problem to see the fix.

Step 1 Install ChatGPT's connector

The download failed
Check that you're online and click Install again.
Nuxa says the download didn't pass its safety check
Nothing was installed. Try again later. If it keeps happening, click Get help.
My work Mac doesn't allow installing apps
Ask your IT team, or choose Sign in with Google instead.

Step 2 Sign in with ChatGPT

The sign-in page didn't open
Click Open sign-in page.
I signed in but Nuxa hasn't noticed
Click Check again. If it still says you're not signed in, click Sign in and try once more.
It says my account can't be used
ChatGPT work and school accounts can't connect yet. Use a personal ChatGPT account or an API key.

Step 3 Testing ChatGPT…

It says I've reached my plan's limit
Your ChatGPT plan's limit resets soon. Upgrading your ChatGPT plan gives more.
It says I'm not signed in
Click Back, then Sign in again.

Any step Something else

I'm offline
Setting up needs the internet (except a model that's already on your Mac). Connect, then try the step again.
I use a VPN or a work network
VPNs and work firewalls sometimes block AI services. Try with the VPN off, or on another network.
macOS asks for permission
Nuxa may ask to paste from the clipboard or to open a web page. Click Allow; nothing happens without your click.
Nothing seems to happen
Click Check again, or go Back one step and try again. If you're stuck, click Get help — it tells us which step you're on.
