Open Bear

Nuxa opens Bear on this Mac.

Export your notes

Click Notes in the sidebar, select all (⌘A), then File ▸ Export Notes… Choose Markdown (or TextBundle to keep images) and a new folder.

Choose the folder you exported to.

Bringing your notes in…

Nuxa reads your Bear notes and adds them to a new notebook, “From Bear”. You can stop and resume.

4Troubleshooting

Tap a problem to see the fix.

Step 1 Open Bear

Bear isn't on this Mac

Bear exports only from the Mac app. Install it from the App Store and let your notes sync.

Step 2 Export your notes

Export is grayed out

Select some notes first: click a note, then press ⌘A.

Images are missing

Export as TextBundle, which includes them.

Step 3 Choose the export

Nuxa finds no notes

Choose the folder that holds the .md or .textbundle files.

Nuxa doesn't suggest my file

Click Choose the Export… and find it yourself; it's usually in Downloads.

Step 4 Bringing your notes in…

It's taking a long time

Big libraries with many images take a while. You can keep working; stop and resume any time.

I stopped it by mistake

Click Resume: Nuxa carries on without reading everything again.

Step 5 Your notes are in

Some notes are missing

Check the list of things that weren't converted. Exports sometimes leave out notes the app keeps elsewhere.

I imported the wrong thing

Delete the “From Bear” notebook (⌘Z undoes it) and import again.

Any step Something else

I'm not sure which app I'm coming from

Pick Word, PDF & other files for loose documents, or Starting fresh.

macOS asks for permission

Nuxa asks before reading a folder or another app's notes. Click OK; nothing happens without your click.

Nothing seems to happen

Click Back and try the step again. If you're stuck, click Get help — it tells us which step you're on.
